ON-KILTER

On-Kilter is a brand new festival hailing from North Wales. Its driving focus is on listening quality and providing an egalitarian platform for young upcoming artists, set against a beautiful rolling valley equipped with a lake. My task was to create a visual identity for a festival that was keen to show its DIY ethos balanced with its incredible location. This DIY ethos inspired me to look at architectural blue-prints which, I felt, provided a highly suitable aesthetic for an electronic music festival. This clean style was juxtaposed against natural forms created from Cyanotype (or sun) prints.

Going forward, the On-Kilter crew have started ‘Sonic Sessions’ focusing on actively engaging in experimental music in a more relaxed environment to a typical party. For ‘Sonic Sessions’ I wanted to maintain the festival’s visual language whilst showing a clear distinction between the two outputs.
